A carefully adapted massage appointment designed around comfort, positioning and the physical changes of pregnancy.
Pregnancy Massage uses gentle to moderate techniques and supportive positioning to help manage everyday muscular tension and discomfort during pregnancy.
Your therapist will ask about your pregnancy, current symptoms, medical history and advice from your doctor or midwife. Positioning, pressure, treatment areas and products are adjusted for comfort and suitability.
Pregnancy Birth and Baby advises checking with your doctor or midwife before pregnancy massage and choosing a therapist trained in pregnancy massage. Muscles Care should publish and offer this service only when the treating therapist’s relevant training and availability are verified.
Experiences vary, and treatment is adapted to the individual pregnancy.
The therapist will complete a pregnancy-specific consultation and use side-lying, seated or another supported position rather than asking you to lie flat on your stomach or back.
Abdominal massage is not part of this service. Leg pressure is kept gentle, and treatment will stop or change if you feel unwell, dizzy, uncomfortable or concerned.
Read feedback from clients who visit Muscles Care for pain management, movement, recovery and regular body maintenance.

Pregnancy massage is generally considered safe when appropriately adapted, but Pregnancy Birth and Baby recommends checking with your doctor or midwife and choosing a therapist trained in pregnancy massage.
The therapist may use supported side-lying, seated or another comfortable position. You should not be asked to lie flat on your stomach or back for the treatment.
Check with your doctor or midwife before booking. The clinic may request clearance depending on your stage of pregnancy, symptoms, health history or pregnancy-related concerns.
Contact your maternity care provider if you have bleeding, severe or unusual pain, sudden swelling, signs of a blood clot, dizziness, fever, reduced fetal movement or any concern about your pregnancy. Massage is not emergency care.
