Myotherapy assessment and hands-on treatment at Muscles Care Prahran

About Myotherapy

Myotherapy focuses on the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal concerns. It can be a useful starting point when pain keeps returning, movement feels restricted or you want a more detailed approach than a general massage.

Your therapist will discuss your symptoms, relevant history, work, training and daily activities. They may assess movement or tender areas before selecting techniques suited to you. Treatment can include soft-tissue therapy, trigger point techniques, myofascial release, stretching, joint mobilisation, muscle energy techniques, cupping or dry needling where appropriate.

The goal is not to force the body through pain. Treatment pressure and technique are adjusted through ongoing communication, and you may receive simple mobility, stretching or self-management guidance for between appointments.

Went it broken, came out fixed. Jessie is a GUN. I was floating after the treatment. She is literally the best. I shouldn’t be writing such a rave review as I might never be able to get another slot with her. But credit where it’s due. She’s the best ever and I’ve been around for a long time.

Amazing place and therapists. I’ve been here a few times and every time is 10/10. They know the body and they know how to treat pain. I have chronic back issues and general stiffness from work so I have tried many places over the years but this is by far the best. Thank you again. Diarmuid

The team at MuscleCare are highly skilled and professional. They deliver serious pain and discomfort with enthusiasm and smiles that make the whole rehab process much easier to bear. I'm always impressed with their knowledge of anatomy, how they find the problem areas with deft touch, and have a range of options for dealing with your problems including massage needling and cupping. You'll feel safe, cared for and in good hands.

I have been managing chronic pain for the past decade, spent tens of thousands of dollars, seeing different therapists, specialists, doctors ect over the years. Unfortunately, gathering very little progress. The mobility, softness, reduction in pain and overall wellbeing I have experienced in my body over 5 sessions with Wiranda and the team at Muscles Care Prahran, is something I never thought possible. I highly recommend booking in an appointment, if you want a healthier and happier body. 🙌🏼😀

I had an incredible experience at Muscles Care Massage in Prahran. I went in with a lower back injury and received remedial massage, cupping and dry needling, and the treatment made a huge difference. The therapist was fantastic, knowledgeable, professional and really took the time to understand what was going on. I left feeling significantly better. Highly recommend if you're dealing with pain or need a quality remedial massage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers about bookings, health fund rebates, treatment pressure, first appointments and aftercare.

Is Myotherapy the same as Remedial Massage?

They overlap, but Myotherapy generally places greater emphasis on musculoskeletal assessment, movement, treatment planning and rehabilitation-style guidance. Remedial Massage is also targeted and therapeutic, but the exact approach depends on the therapist and your needs.

It may. Dry needling is only used when the therapist is qualified, considers it suitable and you provide consent. Other hands-on techniques can be used if you prefer not to have needling.

Many Extras policies include Myotherapy. Bring your health fund card or app for HICAPS claiming, and confirm your eligibility and rebate directly with your fund.

That depends on the concern, how long it has been present, your response to treatment and your goals. Your therapist can discuss options after assessing you; ongoing treatment is never automatically required.
